Ijaaz Noohu is a Sri Lankan born, Los Angeles raised director and writer with an MFA in Film, with an emphasis in Directing and Screenwriting from Columbia University School of the Arts. He was selected as a directing mentee for the inaugural Salon Mentorship Program in 2021.

Ijaaz is currently developing Say That You Love Me, his narrative writing and directing feature debut.

Ijaaz’s 2018 short film, Start Breaking My Heart was the recipient of the competitive Katharina-Otto Bernstein Award at Columbia University. In addition to directing narrative films, Ijaaz directs music videos for artists across varying genres of music.

As a child of diaspora, Ijaaz’s work centers on propulsive stories about flawed protagonists fumbling with their humanity, grappling with their identities, and finding their place in a murky world.
